I am Bonita, a retired educator now happy artist, living and working in San Diego, California. I love to paint, draw, sculpt, play with materials, and create pictures with yarn.

People are typically most curious about my crochet work because they have never seen crochet paintings before they encounter one of my pieces. I am often asked if I "invented" crochet painting? I share that I arrived at crochet painting through exploration but know of a number of other artists who have also arrived at forms of crochet painting.

Each crochet piece takes a long time to complete. I take breaks often and explore en plein air, figurative work, and abstracts. I work in oil, acrylic, clay, and whatever other materials call to me in the moment.
